High temperature oxidation of non equi-atomic Al5Cr12Fe35Mn28Ni20 high entropy alloy

Abstract The Oxidation behavior of the Al 5 Cr 12 Fe 35 Mn 28 Ni 20 high entropy alloy was investigated in air at temperatures 900 °C, 1000 °C and 1100 for 100 h isothermally. oxidation kinetics all obeys parabolic rate law with an activation energy 100.6 kJ mol ?1 . externally oxidized forming duplex layer consisted manganese oxides that overlays Mn-Cr-Fe spinel oxides. While, it observed samples were also internally 2 O 3 deep alloy. initial 1 24 producing external scale 4 overlaying oxide precipitates.
